Winter Rally IMPORTANT INFO!!!

If you are receiving this e-mail, you are signed up to go to Raleigh this coming weekend for their Winter Rally. The following is important information that you and your parents need to know.

 

-          We will be spending the weekend at The YMCA at the Factory (1839 S. Main Street, Wake Forest, NC 27587)

-          We will meet at the Morrison YMCA at 9 am on Saturday morning.

-          If your parents need to get in contact me, please call my cell phone at 704-614-2208.

-          If for some reason your parents need to get in contact with the supervisor in charge of the event, her name is Jennifer Jackson from the YMCA of the Triangle and her phone number is 919-453-5510. Please only call Jennifer if it is an emergency, and you have already tried calling me.

-          You will need money for lunch on Saturday – no more than $10.

-          We will be back at the Morrison YMCA Sunday at noon.

-          Sleeping bag

-          Money for lunch on Saturday. Dinner and Breakfast on Sunday is provided. (No need for more than $10)

Jeans, khakis, t-shirt etc. (appropriate clothing for being outside all day.)

Christmas Dinner for Charlotte's Homeless

OK everyone, this is the list of people and the jobs you will have at the dinner. Since we need to be at the Harris Teen Center at 5 pm, we need to meet at the YMCA at 4:30 pm so we can all drive over in one bus. Please meet in the front lobby so we can just leave from the branch, now that the bus keys have been moved form the Pavilion to the main facility.

 

Also, we will be having pizza at the Dinner, but not until 8 pm or so. And since we will all be serving food, and we’ll probably get hungry, please make sure to eat something substantial before coming to the YMCA as we will not get a chance for food for 3.5 hours. Please e-mail me as soon as you get this if your plans have changed and you can either go or not go.

 

Also, VERY IMPORTANT!!!, we will be wearing our Morrison Blue Ridge Leaders’ shirts with the Michelin man logo. So, if you have one, wear it, if not, I will bring our extras. We will be back at the branch by 9:15 pm.

Christmas party reminder

Just a quick reminder that we will be having the first annual Leaders’ Club Christmas party Sunday Dec. 16^th at Lexi’s house. Please meet at the YMCA at 4:15 pm and we will be done at 6:30 pm.

If you have not RSVP’d, please do so. It is not fair to Lexi and her parents to just show up without letting us know.

Also, if you are signing up for any event (i.e. ski trip or rally) you are not officially signed up until the money and registration is in my hand. Remember, first come first serve.

Please be at this meeting on Tuesday. We will cover so much stuff your head will spin. Since our last meeting was a social meeting, and we don’t meet again until January, we will cover a lot of stuff. Leaders' Christmas party Sunday Dec. 16th at 4:30 pm

I wanted to write and announce that we will have the First Annual Morrison Family YMCA Christmas Party Sunday Dec. 16^th from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. This will be a great time for you all to get together to eat and share gifts.

The party will be at our Leaders’ Club President’s house – Lexi Hawkins – which is in the subdivision across from the back entrance for the YMCA. We will meet at the YMCA and either walk or – depending on the weather – take the YMCA bus.

We will meet Sunday December 16^th at 4:15 pm and will be done by 6:30 pm. You need to bring the following items:

A food item (either a dessert or an appetizer) and a gift (less than $15) for our gift exchange.

Please RSVP on the web site and also write what type of food you are bringing (so we don’t have 200 brownies). Thanks. Mike.

Program: Basketball Clinics (A total of 20+ hours)
Days: Saturdays for 8 weeks ~ you do need to be able to attend all sessions to volunteer as you will be the coach for the children
Dates: Saturday, December 8th through Saturday, February 9th (no clinics on 12/22 or 12/29)
Times: 8:00-10:30 a.m. or 10:00-12:30 p.m. (up to 1 p.m. if needed)
Attire: Volunteer shirt (mandatory so that parent’s know you are a volunteer), athletic shorts or pants and tennis shoes or basketball shoes
Details: This will entail helping children between the ages of 3-5 in learning the basics about basketball including dribbling, shooting, etc., so you do not need to be a pro to do this! 

RSVP needed for Leaders' Dinner this Tuesday, Nov. 27th at McCalister's 6 p.m.

Just a reminder that we will be going out to eat this Tuesday instead of our regularly scheduled meeting. Same time, (6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.) same meeting place (the pavilion), but we will load up in the YMCA busses and go out to eat at McCalister’s Deli in Ballantyne Commons (I know we originally said Blakeney, but I called the Ballantyne one and they have more space for us).

 

I need to know if you are coming or not. This is not mandatory, but I need to know your status so I can arrange transportation.

 

Make sure to bring about $7 for dinner.
