Teen Prayer Breakfast- Siskey Family YMCA

Check out the email below and the attachment.  This is going to be a really cool event and you get a free breakfast.  If you would like to attend, please let me know so I can RSVP with a head count.  Feel free to invite friends from church, school, or your neighborhood too.  The more the merrier.

 

Let me know by Thursday night if you plan to attend.  Also, don't forget to bring decorations for cookies and to gingerbread houses for our Social meeting next Monday night.  We will also play a gift exchange game so bring a gift (fun or serious) under 10 bucks. 

 

Last but not least, in case you were not at the meeting, please let me know if you plan to volunteer for MSM this Saturday night.  Wear a Tacky Christmas sweater for our last MSM of 2009!

On Monday, December 21 from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM, the Siskey Family YMCA will be hosting the first Teen Prayer Breakfast in less than one week!  Our goal for this event is to bring teenagers together to hear a message from Michael Hahn, be led in prayer by Jason Jimenez and song by the Threshold Church Teen Praise band and enjoy food and fellowship.  We truly hope this event brings together teens from all over the community and from all walks of faith to achieve one purpose: to gather before the holidays to pray and hear a message of grace, hope and giving.  The event is free to teens and is supported by the contributions of a number of adults.  I have attached a flyer to hand out to your teens. Please let me know how many teens you will be bringing so that I can get a proper head count to give to the caterer.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Last minute Volunteer Opportunity

I know this is last minute but I just got a request for 3 volunteers to help with a teaching kitchen event Sunday afternoon (1-3:30).  If you are able to attend, let me know and meet in the teaching kitchen wearing your volunteer shirt at 1:30.

 

On a side note, we may have a great opportunity for that fund raiser after all.  I will let you know more about it on Monday but mark your calendar for December 12th and some prep work the week before that. J

Friday and Saturday Volunteers Needed

Three things I need from Leaders’ this weekend.

 

One) I need a lot of help and a lot of people at the 5^th Quarter this Friday night at the Y. It’s after the game, and goes from 9 pm – midnight. It’s just for High School students.

Two) I need some help passing out fliers for 5^th Quarter at the game. If you meet me before the game, go to the game with me, then leave to help set up for volunteering, I will pay for your ticket into the game.

Three) We need a lot of help for the Fall Festivus this Saturday. Details are below. Please get back to me immediately on this.

We need you at this concert. Please come. Bring friends!

 

I also need some help with flier pass out. There are a ton of fliers on my desk. If you get this e-mail before school tomorrow, and can get here and pick up fliers to hand out at school, I will give you volunteer hours during the entire time you are passing them out at school. Leaders' Club Meeting Wednesday Sept. 9th at 6 pm and help this Thursday Sept. 3rd

Hey all,

 

If you are still on this list, but not in Leaders’ Club anymore, I apologize. We will have an updated list this coming week.

 

Leaders’ Club will start back up next Wednesday September 9^th from 6 pm – 7 pm in the Teen Center. We are having this meeting on Wednesday because next Monday is Labor Day. Meetings will be on Mondays this school year as well. This meeting is just for CURRENT Leaders’. We will have a meeting the following Monday, September 14^th for NEW LEADERS’.

 

In the time being, we need some help this coming Thursday, Sept. 3^rd from 6 pm – 7:30 pm. We are running games at Hawk Ridge Elementary School for kids while their parents go to Curriculum night and Brian has requested help from Leaders’ Club. Leaders' Club for fall about to begin and Volunteering in the Kids'HQ

Hey all,

 

Hope you are all ready to get started for Leaders’ Club this Fall. We will start back up in a few weeks, but in the meantime I need some help in the Kids’HQ (formerly the Fun Zone). Because so many people who work in there are either teachers or college students, I need some help supervising the week of August 17^th – 21^st.

 

I need at least two leaders each day from 8 am – 1 pm. That’s five hours of volunteering that you can get even before Leader’s starts back up. If you take all the days, you will have already completed 20% of your volunteer requirements before Leaders’ technically starts. Please let me know what days you want to volunteer for. The Amica Triathlon at Lake Wylie (presented by Steele Creek YMCA & Camp Thunderbird)

is being held next Saturday, July 25^th – and we still need to fill about 20 volunteer spots.

Amica Tri participants, so in addition to volunteering – you can also cheer them & our YCommunity

are also participating as Lifeguards, and to Rachel Kafsky & Shana Davis for driving our

IMPORTANT INFORMATION READ EVERYTHING

We will have a parent information meeting about Blue Ridge Leaders’ School next Monday, June 8^th in the Pavilion Classroom. This is mandatory for all Leaders’ and at least one parent or guardian. It will start at 6 pm and we should be done by 6:30 pm. Even if you are not a first year Leader, everyone needs to attend this meeting. This is a different year and there are different rules parents need to know about.

 

The remaining devotion practices are VITAL for us to perform well at Blue Ridge. I expect everyone to be at the following practices if they are attending BRLS.

Fun Zone Move Part 2 this Tuesday at 7:30 pm

Back in December you guys did an awesome job moving the Fun Zone from its’ old room into the current space. Now, we need to do the reverse. We need to move the current Fun Zone into its’ new space (in between the Teen center and Genesis area) this Tuesday so the Fire Inspector can come on Wednesday morning.

 

WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET.
